Cards we don't like to have to make

Hi everyone, thank you to those who left such lovely comments on previous blog posts x

Here are three Sympathy cards I made recently.  Unfortunately I have had to send two of them already in this last week.

This one I made using a image from the 'Kraftyhands' In Sympathy cd. Backing papers were from my stash, and the trellis is from Spellbinders.  The flowers I bought back last year, but can't for the life of me remember where!

Sorry about the quality of the pic for this one.  The card blank was from Kanban and both the backing paper and topper were from the same cd as before.  Didn't think it needed anything else on it to be honest.

The final one, I used the Desiree dotty embossing folder and a Memory Box die.  The stamp is from Stampendous, and the same flowers as the first, but of course, a different colour!

Until the next time ........................... take care x

Hi, and welcome to Challenge 20 at

Finally our third sponsor is:

Who are offering one lucky winner the Doctor Toby Image

So there are the sponsors and prizes, now onto my DT  projects

I loved working with this image which is Roses Frame from Floppy Latte at Stitches, and thought it just lent itself to be put onto a  handmade box.  I made the lid of the box with burgundy coloured card, and the base with cream card.  The image is coloured with promarkers, and the message reads:
There are always flowers for those who want to see them - Henri Mattisse
I finished the box off using three hearts from a Memory Box die,  cream ribbon round the lid and attached another Memory Box heart to the bow.

The second image is With Love from Crafty Sentiments:

Using H2o's I put different colours onto my craft mat and spritzed with water and then dabbed all over
the background.  The image is coloured with promarkers and then sprayed with Spray and Shine.  I finished the tag off with a little piece of ribbon.

I hope you will come and join us in the challenge and look forward to seeing your creations

Sew it's your birthday?

Hi , and thank you to everyone who has taken the time to leave such lovely comments on my posts.

I made this card yesterday and it was a very spur of the moment make.  I used Heartfelt Creations Burlap background stamp, and then stamped out the elements from the Stampography stamps which I bought from Kraftyhands.co.uk.  The stamps are designed by Linda Simpson, and I just hope I have done them justice.
The cotton reel and needle and thread are Memory Box dies, and the scissors started out life as a very bright gold, so I used a silver metallic marker to change the colour.

Not a very good photograph, the light is dreadful again today.
Take care............................. till next time

Out of sight - but definitely not out of mind

Let me first start by saying a big THANK YOU for all the lovely comments I received on my post yesterday, and am so glad you liked what you saw, it boosted my confidence no end.  We all get days I am sure when things do't quite go as planned craft wise.

Onto today. This morning I was watching Ali Reeve, and I thought, I have that mask, I might do something with it.  Anyway, one of my long standing friends (too many years to mention!) and who lives in  Wales was on my mind too for some reason, and as I was looking at the mask, I made up a little verse in my head.

I am no poet, and I hadn't tried the technique before either, so it was a case of anything could happen!

Enough waffle - this is what I came up with:

Originally, I laid the mask onto white card, pressed Versamark through it and then used Cosmic Shimmer 'Iced Blush' mica powder, thought it looked quite pretty but it had too much white behind it, so I did the same thing but on black card, forgetting that it would change colour!! Hence it is now Blue! lol. The backing paper is from the Chronology range, and I just went round the edge with black soot.  The sentiment I did on my laptop and then  inserted the heart.  This I cut out using Spellbinders Stately Circles and inked it with Spun sugar distress  ink.  A gem on each point and a couple of butterflies to finish it off.

Just in case you can't see the verse clearly, it says:
Whether you're near
or whether your far,
You'll be my friend
wherever you are

I'm off now to pop this in the post to her.

Till next time ................
