Would you like to show someone you care?

Hi, and welcome.  This is a very special post today to let you know about a new group on Facebook, which aims to help people who are having a rough time, and to help them to know that someone is thinking about them.  The aim of the group is:

To have a place where people can come if they know someone who has a need that can be helped by showing a little kindness, perhaps sending a card to let them know that someone cares about them.

In return they will receive 'Happy Mail', be it a card, a small gift, or a handwritten letter.

So the group is two-fold.
1.  First you can come here if you know someone who has
a need.
or
2.  If you are wanting to be that special person to someone by sending them
a card or letter etc.

You can of course do both

Nothing will be sent unless permission has been granted to use the
nominated person's address within the group.

The name of the group is Cards of Kindness UK, and this is where you can come, and help give something back to the world.
The idea originated in the US and it was felt that it would be a great idea to set
up a similar group for those in the UK.

Here is a card I've made for someone that's been nominated:

I began with a piece of black shiny card, the leaf border stencil,  Lavender and Turquoise Sparkle Medium.  I stamped the flowers which are part of the decoupage stamp range and then coloured  them with Promarkers.  Everything used was from Imagination Crafts.

I would like to enter the card into the Imagination Crafts Anything Goes' Challenge at:
http://imagination-craftschallenges.blogspot.co.uk/

Thank you  for reading the very long  post, and if you would like to join the group, you can either let me know in the comments or personal message me and I will pass your name on.  Many thanks - in advance ...............

Challenge 9 - Scribble and Scrap - Always Anything Goes

Hello and welcome to Challenge 9 over at

From now on, not only is there a £15 voucher for the winner, but also a £5.00 one for each of the Top 3 spots - so even more reason to join us!

Thank you to everyone who joined in the last challenge, all the entries were brilliant.  Please be sure to read the rules before entering.

Here's my DT card taken from the Vintage Girls Topper Sheet 2

I started with an 8 x 8 black card blank and added the backing paper which is taken from the Papermaker A4 paper pack from Craftstyle. I punched a border strip with a Martha Stewart Punch and then laid a strip of ribbon over the top.

Then I placed the topper onto mirri board and rounded the corners.  Finally I attached the flowers and pearls from my stash.

I hope you will join in the challenge as we always look forward to seeing your entries.  Good Luck

One lucky lady - two wins within a few days!

Hi and welcome.  I so hope 2014 will turn out to be a fabulous year for all my friends family and followers, and am thinking of all those caught up in the terrible storms today - please stay safe.

Well 2013 finished on a high when I won Blog Candy from my dearest friend Avril (my adopted daughter!) and then on the first day of January I was the lucky winner of a £40 voucher from the Imagination Crafts Challenge, so things have certainly started well for me.

I have a project to show you which I did before Christmas but have only just got round to blogging it!!!  It started life as a plain mdf box and now.....................

I started off by using Indigo Blu English Cottage Wimberry Pie, Park Lane, and Pebeo Bermuda Acrylic Paints.  I splodged (a technical term!) all three colours onto the box and then dabbed it with kitchen towel so that it blended all three into each other.  ( I watched Kay Helliwell do this technique on C and C). Next I stamped the Wrought iron Corner from Creative Expressions with Jet Black Staz on and embossed them with clear embossing powder.  The frame was made with the Katy Sue mould, using Martha Stewart's white clay which I coloured with Distress ink.  The cameo is a Hobbycraft stamp.  Finally I added the two little butterflies which were in my stash.

Hope you like it - Till next time ....................

New Year, New Challenge at Just for Fun

Hello and welcome to a new challenge at:

Let me first wish everyone a Happy New Year, may it be a healthy and happy one with all your dreams coming true.  Thank you to everyone who visited my blog in 2013  it means so much - if it wasn't for you I wouldn't be in blogland!

Thank you also to everyone who has supported the Just for Fun challenge, it is really appreciated and we always look forward to seeing your entries.

Onto this month's challenge theme which is 'NEW' - so New Year, new baby, new home, new job or whatever New theme you come up with.

Here's my DT card, and I chose 'New Year'

A really quick and easy card using a Tonic die for the background and a Hunkydory topper.  I used the Cosmic Shimmer PVA Silver Lustre to put the pearl dots on.  It was the first time I'd used it, so not as even as they could have been, but it was fun doing it lol.

Can't wait to see what your entries and the ideas you come up with ................ good luck
