A little bit of Neon!

Hi there, and welcome to another post.  Thank you for all the lovely comments left last time xx

Today's post is for a challenge over at Daring Cardmakers

The challenge is called 'Glowing Neon'

I was so lucky because I received the Papermania Neon card and ribbon with my Craft Essentials magazine this month.  For the background paper I used Cor'dinations and embossed it and then rubbed it back slightly. The flowers were made with Die'sire dies and the butterfly is an X cut die. The sentiment is from Hunkydory which I coloured with a highlighter.

The same........ but different!

Hello and welcome to another post.  Thank you for all the comments left last time.

Today I am showing another Tonic Verona unit, but this time in different colours and a different configuration.  (If you would like to see the previous one you will find it on the post dated 6th June)

The paint, stencils and butterfly stamp are all from Imagination Crafts.  I used Phill Martin's Denim and silver texture paste for the stencils. The papers (Core'dinations) are from my stash and the draw fronts were cut using the Avante draw dies from Tonic.

I have decided to keep this one for myself!

Somewhere for the trinkets!

Hello and welcome - I can't believe it has been almost two and a half months since I last  blogged.  I have been crafting, on and off, but just haven't had the energy or inclination to blog.

Anyway, I have made this unit for my very good friend Jean who is going to use it for her jewellery.

The unit is the Verona from Tonic and I painted it with Imagination Crafts and Indigo blu MDF paint. I also used Crafstmatic Feather collage decoupage paper.  The stamp is Bella Rose leaves from Heartfelt Creations and  the front of the drawers were made using the Avante Draw Deco Die set from Tonic.

I'm able to show this now as I gave it to Jean this afternoon and she loved it!

Easter basket

Hello and welcome to another post.  Thank you so much for all the comments left on yesterday's post xx

Today's creation:

I made this for my friends Jean and Alex, I haven't decided what to put in it yet!  I started off by putting the pieces of the MDF basket together.  I then used paper from Craftwork cards for the front, back and sides, and painted the handle with Pebeo acrylic paint..  I placed the pearls along the top and then attached the lace and  flowers.  Finally I coloured a piece of Seam Binding with a Promarker and attached it to the handle

That's it!

I thought you might like to see the Camelia and Helebores which are in flower in my garden,  There are loads of buds to come out on the Camelia.

Keeping things tidy!!

Hello and welcome.  Sorry I haven't blogged for a while.  I have still been crafting, but can't share at the moment!  Thank you to everyone who commented on my last post, it's really appreciated xx

Here's today's make:

I started off by glueing the Craft Consortium Decoupage Papers to the Creative Expressions Glue and Ink holder.  I then put the whole thing together (no glue required).  Once together I painted the unit with Creative Expressions Shy Violet Matt Chalk  Paint.  A very quick and easy project.

Here's today's offering, please  feel free to click on the image to see the real sparkle::

I embossed the base layer with Sue Wilson's Interlocking Circles, then added the green.  I then placed the main stencil from Imagination Crafts onto black card - also  from Imagination Crafts and used Tangerine and Pastel Yellow Sparkle Medium.  The next step was to use the same Sparkle Medium on the smaller stencil from Imagination Crafts to decoupage the image.

Hope you like it - till next time ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Here's today's card, so easy to do -

The corners are from Phill Marin's Decadent Damask collection and the sentiment is from his Decadent Damask Inspirational Phrases stamp set.  The scalloped circle is a stamp I got free with a magazine.

Glitter glitter everywhere!!!

Hello and welcome to  new post.  I decided to enter the' 'Something for the Weekend Challenge' over at:

We were given a digi to work with:

Here's what I did with it:

I put the candy striped paper onto an 8 x 8 card and then cut out the two edgers which are Spellbinder dies.

I copied the image onto printable acetate and used a combination of  Martha Stewart, Hunkydory and Sweet Poppy Glitters.

Finally I added the sentiment 'Love your Dreams' and the flowers which were from my stash.

Unfortunately the photo doesn't show how fabulous the glitter looks - It shows it better if you click on the picture!

Clean and Simple

Hello and welcome to a new post.  Thank you for leaving comments, it's much appreciated.

Today's card is a real quick one as I went out for coffee to a couple of Garden Centres this morning.  I don't know if it's the time of year, but again they were disappointing as far as plants were concerned.  They all seem to be focusing on Home Decor rather than plants!

Anyway onto the card:

I started by using Pumice Stone distress ink round the edge of a 6 x 6 card.  I then inked up an acrylic block with a 'Stampin Up Sahara Sand inkpad and stamped it onto the card.  I then inked up the image with a 'Stampin Up Soft beige inkpad and stamped onto the background.  Next came the quote and the sentiment.
The stamps that I used are also from Stampin Up and is called Moon Lake.  There are two other images and quotes in the set, so I will probably show what I do with them at some point!

So, a really quick and easy card to make especially if your'e in a hurry or want a quick card.

Mermaid Freebie

I have used another free download today which was on

The polka dots in the background were made with a mask from Ali Reeve, and using Sweet Poppy Pearlescent Paste  mixed with mica powder.  The bubbles are a stamp from Indigo Blu which I stamped with Memento and then added clear embossing powder and the grass is from Scenescapes.  I used distress inks to colour the background of the canvas.  The mermaid is coloured with Promarkers, and the fish stamp is a Designs by Ryn, again stamped with Memento and embossed.   I put some little gems here and there on the mermaid which were from my stash.

Grandma's button jar

Hi there.welcome to another post.  Thank you to those who visited my last one xxx

Today's card is a quick and easy one, you can get the free download here:
and here it is:

I must say it looks better in real life lol.  It was coloured with Promarkers and although you can't see, I sprayed it twice with Spray and Shine from Crafter's Companion.  I made a stand for it, but you could easily draw round the shape and put it back to back to make it into a card.

For a friend

Hello and welcome.  Thank you for finding the time to comment on my last post xx

Today's card is for my friend in Wales - she was my bridesmaid too many moons ago - she always sends an Easter card - something I'm afraid I no longer do, but when I was sorting through I came across a set of Easter stamps, so here it is!

The background paper is from the Country Garden collection by Craftwork cards.  I took another sheet and cut out the roses so that I could decoupage them.  The image is coloured with Promarkers, the sentiment was cut out using a spellbinder die, and the stamp set I used is from Crafty Impressions.

What a girl should be!

Hello and welcome to today's blog post - Thank you to everyone who commented on the last one xx

A great day today to stay in and craft, the weather is awful at the moment - windy and raining!

Onto the card:

Art Deco for a change.

I found the stamps whilst sorting through so thought I ought to use them!  They are from Graphic 45.  I started with an 8 x 8 card and then used decorative scissors for the layer in red.  I stamped and embossed the corners and attached a black strip of card across it.  I used the decorative scissors again and then coloured the image with Promarkers. I then stamped the sentiment (using an Artiste ink pad) which says:

'A girl should be two things, Classy and Fabulous'

I attached the pearls from my stash and finally, the feather, also from my stash.

Flutterbies and poppies

Hello and welcome to another post.  Thank you so so much for all the fabulous comments on my post yesterday - I was blown away by them xxx

Before I go onto today's post, some of you commented on the fur on the 'kitty' card the day before yesterday.  I'm afraid I can't take the credit for it - the stamp did it!!  lol

Anyway here's today's offering -

Sorry about the photo, terribly dark here this afternoon!.  The backing paper is from Butterfly Parade by  Craftwork cards, the poppies are from Hobby art and the border round the sentiment and the sentiment are from Phill Martin.  The colours are painted with Distress inks and the little butterflies were cut out of another page from the Butterfly Parade Pad.

The words on the sentiment are:

I'm sending this card as I wanted to say
I hope you have a truly amazing day

I didn't want to put too much on the card because I didn't want to hide the gorgeous paper - I do have a confession though - I meant to go round the edges with Distress Ink and FORGOT! lol

Many happy returns

Hello and welcome to my latest post, and thank you for your comments on the last one, they are so appreciated

Latest update is that I went into Wokingham by taxi on my own on Saturday, and had a look round a few shops and then walked home, which is about a 20 minute walk, so felt really chuffed! and yesterday Jean and I went to a Garden Centre. We split up and did our own thing, and then met up for a coffee.  Didn't really enjoy the outing as I was feeling really wobbly and to be honest the plants and flowers were half dead and the whole place looked run down and very un-loved.  At least I have two more outings under my belt! lol!

Onto today's card:

Just love this image which is from Stamps Away and coloured with Promarkers and Fleximarkers.  The background is the  8 x 8 Textures 'Wood' embossing folder from Crafter's Companion and coloured with distress inks.  The die is Spellbinders Grand Circles and again coloured with distress inks.  Buttons and bows from my stash and the sentiment is from Hunkydory

I would like to enter this into the 'Anything Goes' Challenge over at Crafting with the Heart

Special Day

Hello and welcome to another post.  Again, many thanks for all the lovely comments last time.

Well, Wednesday was a very special day for me because I managed to get on a train to Reading all on my own.  I only stayed on the concourse, but went for a cup of coffee in Costa Coffee and shopped in Accessorize and W H Smith's!   It felt soooo good. I haven't been out since, but am hoping to go to a Garden Centre on Sunday with my friend Jean.

Onto today's make:

I have made this card for the 'Twit Twoo' Challenge over at the Facebook Page - Craft Chat Share and Care Group.

Pink Black and Blue layers are from my stash.  The backing  paper is from the Scenescapes range from Lavinia Stamps  and the butterflies are from Tonic.   I stamped the owls which are from Marriane Designs with a black Memento ink pad and then coloured them with Promarkers.  The Sentiment is from Hunkydory.

Not too distressed!

Hello and welcome to a new post.  Thank you to everyone who left a comment last time.

Just thought I would update you in case some of you didn't know what had happened!  I had vertigo over a year ago and it has now left me with Chronic Subjective Dizziness.  Because the vertigo went on for so long the brain has gone into dizziiness mode, so as soon as I move I become giddy and unstable, so going out is extremely difficult for me because I am frightened I might pass out!  Anyway enough of that.

I did intend to make a card yesterday, but unfortunately it wasn't to be - no matter how I tried, it just kept on  going wrong so I decided it wasn't meant to be and gave up - lol!

What I did manage to do yesterday was to have dinner at my friends house.  Her husband came and picked me up about 5.00pm .  After a couple of hours I began to feel really wobbly even when sitting down so Alex bought me back home around 7.15.  I had a really nice time but was so sorry that I couldn't stay longer - at least I went which again was a big thing for me.

Anyway onto today's card:

I started with a 6 x 6 card and stamped the corners with Imagination Crafts 'Butterfly' stamp set.  I used Forest Moss and Seedless Preserves Distress Inks.  I then used the same inks to blend the background (I know it looks as though the green is in fact brown!!! lol )

The next layer I used Spellbinders Grand Circles 1 and coloured the die cut with Bundled Sage.Distress Ink. On top of that I have used a topper from the Heartfelt Creations Raindrops on Roses Collection.  I then stamped the butterfly - from Imagination Crafts and watered down the Distress Inks and painted it,.  Finally I added the sentiment which is from Phill Martin's Vintage Frame Sentiments Collection.

It certainly looks far better in real life!!!

A bit more vintage?

Hello and welcome to today's post.  Thank you for all the lovely comments left yesterday, it really means such a lot xx

Today's card is using another Crafty Individual stamp.which I coloured with Panpastels.  I used a cotton bud and coloured it with a Zig Gold pen to make a holder for the banner.  The sentiment is  from Stampendous, again coloured with Panpastels.  The paper is a freebie from Making Cards, the lace, and pearls are from my stash and the butterfly is from Petaloo.

A touch of vintage

Hello and welcome to today's blog post.  Again, thank you for the lovely comments left yesterday.

Well, today was another milestone for me.  My friend and her husband picked me up in the car and took me to Broad Street Mall in Reading which is the first big town after Wokingham.  Oh boy I was so wobbly and scared!!!  We went for a cup of coffee and then Jean and I went outside the Mall so she could have a ciggie!

After that we  window shopped and then found a jewellers which was selling bankrupt jewellery - just had to have a look - and I bought myself a necklace.  We walked around a bit more and came across a Yankee Candle shop.  Jean saw some tea light candlesticks which she liked so I bought them for her as a thank you for supporting me - she was over the moon.

We then came home.  All in all a great 2 hours even though it was scary for me!!! lol

Anyway here is a tag which I made this afternoon:

I started with a wooden tag from Sheena Douglass and stamped the crackle background which is from Indigo Blu using Ranger Coffee Archival Ink - .  I then coloured it with Tea Die and Scattered Straw Distress inks.

I then stamped the image from Crafty Individuals onto some card, again using the Archival ink and colouring it with the same distress inks and my Promarkers.

I stamped the sentiment (sorry I don't know who it is made by!) using the same inks.  The ribbon is from Docrafts.

Made with Freebies and stash!

Hello and welcome to another blog post.  Thank you to all who left comments and support  last time,

Today has not been a good day.  I did go out for a walk, but had to turn back as I was feeling extremely unsteady, but  I went out again this afternoon, just round the block, so didn't feel quite so guilty about this morning.

It did mean I could make this card instead! lol

Sorry the picture is blurred!

All the layers were made using Spellbinders Grand Decorative Circles One and paper/card from my stash.  The top layer was stamped with one of Phill Martin's stamps from his Lacey Circles and borders stamp set.  The rose and leaves are two separate stamps and were part of a freebie from Clearly Besotted Stamps in Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine.  I coloured these with Promarkers.  I then went round the inner circle with Cosmic Shimmer Berry Sparkle and Spring Green PVA.  To finish off I used a sentiment from - I think Hunkydory.

Two for One!

Hello and welcome to another blog post.  Thank you so so much for the kind comments and support I received on my last post - it means so much that people are routing for me.

I went out for a short walk on my own today, just round the block  in between the showers!  I was really chuffed!

I have two cards for you today - using other elements of the Spellbinders Garden Collection that I used yesterday.:

This was a really quick card to make - A 6 x 6 card blank, the image is coloured with Promarkers and the birdies were made using a punch.

Here's the second one:

Another 6 x 6 card - the background image is Rye Grass Flourish from Heartfelt Creations using  Memento Summer Sky Inkpad.  The mats were made using card from my stash and two Spellbinder Dies.  I coloured the image with Promarkers and then cut round it.  I stamped the sentiment with Cobalt Rangers Archival Inkpad

Special Friend

Hello and welcome to another blog post.  Thank you for the comments left on my last post, I very much appreciate it.

WELL YESTERDAY was a very special day for me.  I went out to my local 'Tesco's for a coffee with a special friend. - Why was it Special??

It was really scary because I am having to learn to go out all over again, and re-gain my confidence.  Hopefully it won't be the last time I will be doing it.

Onto my card I made today -

I started to design this card yesterday and nothing would come together!  I'm still not that happy with it, but thought I would show it anyway!

I started off with a 7 x7 card blank and attached a free download paper from Docrafts.  I then made another matt with navy card from my stash and attached some ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons before sticking it to the backing paper.  The image is from a free stamp set being given away with February's edition of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine - Spellbinders Garden Collection.

I coloured it with Promarkers and coloured the wings of the dragonfly with glitter glue - sorry it doesn't show up in the photo, but it is lovely in real life lol.   Finally I stamped and mounted the sentiment which is also in the set.and attached a butterfly from my stash.

I've missed you!

Hi there, I am so sorry I haven't been around since July 2014, but as some of you will know I have had problems since last January with my health.  The issues are still ongoing, but today I felt I could probably spend a little while doing a blog post after making a card for my dear friend Avril.

I started with a 6 x 6 card blank and stamped the large rose image from Rose Bouquet Vintage labels from Justrite.  The two smaller roses are also from the set of stamps.  The words are from Sentimental Sayings, by Creative Expressions.  All images are coloured with Spectrum Noir pencils.

Hope you like it.
