Special Friend

Hello and welcome to another blog post.  Thank you for the comments left on my last post, I very much appreciate it.

WELL YESTERDAY was a very special day for me.  I went out to my local 'Tesco's for a coffee with a special friend. - Why was it Special??

IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I'D BEEN ABLE TO DO IT FOR A WHOLE YEAR BECAUSE OF ILL HEALTH.

It was really scary because I am having to learn to go out all over again, and re-gain my confidence.  Hopefully it won't be the last time I will be doing it.

Onto my card I made today -

I started to design this card yesterday and nothing would come together!  I'm still not that happy with it, but thought I would show it anyway!

I started off with a 7 x7 card blank and attached a free download paper from Docrafts.  I then made another matt with navy card from my stash and attached some ribbon from Fantastic Ribbons before sticking it to the backing paper.  The image is from a free stamp set being given away with February's edition of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine - Spellbinders Garden Collection.

I coloured it with Promarkers and coloured the wings of the dragonfly with glitter glue - sorry it doesn't show up in the photo, but it is lovely in real life lol.   Finally I stamped and mounted the sentiment which is also in the set.and attached a butterfly from my stash.

Till next time ...........................

Jane I am so proud of you for going out and meeting a friend. I would never leave the house, unless it was for an appointment. When I was taken into hospital, I found myself thrown head first into a situation where I had no choice but to be around a lot of different people. Its hard at first, but the more you get out and about, you will realise is isn't as bad as you imagine in and not everyone is out to get you! I hope you have already arranged your second 'Ladies that Lunch' occasion?!
